Musings, Thoughts, and Information from Speculative Fiction Writer Richard Flores IV

About this Site

About this Blog:

Why a Blog?:

When I started studying the world of writers and decided I wanted to join them, I made myself one promise.  I would not give myself a blog until I got my first acceptance letter.  Well, I got that letter and went to work.

Well that explains why I have a website, by why the blog format?  Well, first of all it is free.  And writers don’t make a lot of money, unless you are Stephen King or Orson Scott Card.  I am certainly not either.  Second, like most writers, I write for fun.  A blog allows me to write about things I care about and share them with all of you.

What will you blog about?:

Whatever I feel like is the simple answer.  Some of it will be about writing, some of it about my experiences as a parent, some of it about my hobbies and interests, and most of all it will be about how those three things intersect in my life.

If you care to see the real thoughts, life, and tribulations of a struggling artist.  Or just care to read some mildly amusing blog posts, please jump aboard.

Blog Rules:

I won’t have a ton of rules listed here to start, but I am sure it will grow:

  1. Comments are always welcome.  I love the exchange of ideas and opinions.  However, anything by anyone (including my friends and family) that I feel is derogatory, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate will be removed.
  2. Foul language (as I define it) will be removed.  I am certainly guilty of a curse or two, there is a place for it and if it’s out of place I will remove it.
  3. No Grammar Police.  You can read that blog post if you care to know my thoughts on that.
  4. Rules will be added as needed.  Lets all be adults so I can keep this list short.
